My New "To Do" List

I saw a list the other day on Instagram, and it struck a chord in my heart. Sometimes, we think we "need" so many things. Things we need to do and be. That we need to do more, try harder. Our culture is all about performance, status, and outward appearance. But really, those outward things don't matter so much in the end. So, I wrote a list like it.. and made it my own. It's a new reminder for me.

As some of you dear readers know, I am currently writing an eBook. Bravely, fearfully at times. And the heart of this list fits the heart of my eBook so well, it's serving as inspiration and is just the heart of the book.

Maybe, friend... you should write one too.

  1. Super cool, everyone here in America needs that list.

We are so bombarded with things, and everyone thinks they need more, more, more. When really, more isn't ever going to make anyone happier. Sometimes more quiet, more prayer and less of everything else!

  3. Hey Erin,

So excited that you are addressing this! I have a real tendency to beat myself up over how far I have to go...when in reality as long as i am walking day by day with my sweet Jesus, it doesn't matter.

Will make one of these lists tonight in my quiet time!

    Blessings,

  4. Love love love. I saw a notebook at Walmart the other day that said "You need Jesus." I didn't really like the tone it seemed to have, but I totally agree with the idea. We ALL need Jesus. I know that he is my best friend!

  6. This is just what I needed to see. Lately I have been all about "more, more, more" and haven't stopped to think of the source of everything – Jesus. Without Him there is nothing, so all I need is Him to be first and only on my list always and forever. Love you Erin! Can't wait to keep hearing more on that eBook!

  12. This is so good Erin! I'd like to do one of these lists as well.

Its a hard thing for me as I want things to be perfect, and I tend to get disappointed with myself when they're not. Even with appearance I've struggled with that, but lately I'v been trying to break the habit of things having to be perfect all the time. A lot of the things on your list just stood out to me as items I've had on my "list" without knowing it.

    Thanks for sharing, sweet friend.
