Hi precious friends!
Today I'm sharing one of my main passions, and it's something I haven't talked about much here on this little space. Listen in below and link up as well - The Girl Behind the Blog is the only linkup I do consistently because it's helped me build friendships and community in this blog world. I encourage you to join, and if you don't - I'd love it if you share some of your passions in my comments below... I love heart to hearts and sharing our passions. Love you all! Have a beautiful day :)
Music is also one of my many passions. I'm glad God is bringing music back into your life <3

We share the same passion! I love music and singing as well. I just love what it does to the soul!
ReplyDeleteI found your video through the link-up! Thanks for sharing your heart. It's so exciting to hear what the Lord has given you a passion. And I love how you talked about the Lord giving you your identity not music or singing!
ReplyDeleteI bet you are an amazing worship leader! I would love to worship with you sometime :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's so amazing how God will reveal to us when something is become too much of our identity. He is so kind and gentle like that, but I'm glad to hear that you see music coming back into your near future! Love you!
I am so glad you're feeling better friend! How did I miss your christmas song post? I want to hear you sing! Its amazing this is such a big part of you and i had no idea
ReplyDeleteI want to hear you sing! What an awesome gift to have, music affects people so deeply and it's a great thing to share with other people. Loved seeing your face today!
ReplyDeleteIt's so amazing when God reminds us that our identity is not in the things we love to do but in Him
ReplyDeleteAw, I bet you sound so lovely! I wish I could sing better, but I still have such a passion for singing worship music loud and proud while I'm driving. It's such an amazing way to connect with Jesus!
ReplyDeleteSo amazing how the Lord works in our lives and finding our identities. Love you sharing your sweet heart here Erin!
Hi Erin! Nice name ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are passionate about music! I so wish I was a good singer... because music totally speaks to me! For now singing alone in my house will have to do ;)
First time visitor from the GBTB link up! I played piano myself as a kid, but didn't practice very regularly - to this day, I can only play by ear.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to what you're saying about God showing you that your identity isn't necessarily in the outward things - I'm going thru something similar, too. But I know there's a greater plan!
I hope you'll consider doing a singing vlog! :)
Music is a big part of my life as well. And I can totally relate with piano. I wasn't as dedicated as I should have been during the time I took lessons & somewhat regret that now. I can still play, I'm just a bit rusty :/
ReplyDeleteWhat a great passion to have! Singing is praying, twice! Sounds like quite the service as a child and teen to give the gift of your voice to so many others! People often don't recognize what worship singers are giving us! I had a small choir of about 5 friends at my wedding who I met in college through our campus ministry program and three gals sand our first dance song at the reception! That is something I will never forget from them. Think of all the lives you have touched! I'm sorry to hear it has been taken out of your life, but God is still using you to reach so many of His children!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved listening to you and your sister sing on your Christmas post! It was beautiful. I totally understand God removing things from our life for a season so we can focus more on Him...been there.

I don't think I knew that about you!! How fun. I love music. It's in my bones, but not so much singing! I started playing the piano at age 7 but haven't been able to play for the past 8 or so years because it wasn't feasible to move my piano around with us. I'm hoping to get it back soon tho! And Isaac loves music. He has been dancing and singing since he could walk and talk. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you are feeling better! Music is also a passion of mine but I can't sing worth a lick, lol. It was awesome though to hear you and your sister sing on the Christmas post you did :) Y'all have amazing voices and really moved me.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I'm always so impressed with people who have musical talent, because I have none! And second, i love how you tied this back in with your testimony and what the Lord has been teaching you!
ReplyDeleteAlso, my son was watching the video with me and he kept saying "Lila, lila," which is what he calls my sister-in-law, and then I realized that you do look like her!
Singing has always been such a huge part of my life. It's been interesting for me over the past year to watch my song writing really decrease as my blog writing has really increased.
ReplyDeleteIt is totally an identity thing. My sister and I were just talking last week about identity and how it's so easy to make it things.
I love that you've recognized your identity in Christ. I've been feeling God teaching me much about identity over the past months, and at community group (bible study) we were talking about how when we live in our true identity (Christ), we truly live in freedom.
Our journeys are a little bit similar in a way. Dance was the biggest part of my life for so long. I lived, breathed, and dreamed it. Then when it was "taken away", I really began to find my true purpose / identity. I too believe that I will be using it again one day because it certainly IS a passion of mine!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with the other comments...
I would love to hear you sing, too :)
What a beautiful testimony. It is so beautiful to hear you say that you are thankful for God bringing something so hard into your life because it was for His good. I hope that God does bring music back into your life again and that you can learn to bring Him even greater glory and honor thank before through it.
